Midwives - we need your help to make the Implementation of the NHS Community Midwifery Model a reality

On 14th March 2006 key stakeholders from NCT, AIMS, IMA, ARM, BLISS and OMOM met with Liam Byrne, Minister responsible for maternity services, and other Department of Health officials to discuss the implementation of the National Health Service Community Midwifery Model (NHSCMM).   The next step is for a group of midwives and their local P.C.T to spearhead the development of the contractual and organisational arrangements for the NHSCMM.

To this end, we want to compile a database of Midwives and Student Midwives who would be interested in working within the NHSCMM.

If you wish to be added to this database please email us with the following information:

Your Name and location within the UK:
Your email address:
Are you a qualified midwife or a student?
If you are a qualified midwife, are you currently practising as a midwife?
Are you practising within the NHS or independently?
If you are not currently practising, would the introduction of the NHSCMM encourage you to return to practise?
Please provide any other information about yourself that you think would be useful to us:

Please send the information in an email to database@omom.org.uk - you should be able to cut and paste the lines above into your email and provide your answers.  If you would NOT be happy for us to use your comments on the website please let us know.

Many thanks for your help
